10 Tips to make your Celebration Experience the best!

We want your experience at the Davis Mountains Hummingbird Celebration
to be epic! Be prepared with our ten tips!

#10    BE INFORMED!

The information you will need for the Celebration including schedules, field trips, etc. can be picked up at the Registration site. All changes due to weather etc. will be announced on Facebook, and at programs.. See FB Page at: https://www.facebook.com/DavisMountainsHummingbirdCelebration/

#9     CARPOOL!

Do you have a high-clearance four-wheel-drive vehicle and are willing to share a ride? Clean out the seats and let us know! Carpools will meet at in the mornings prior to field trips!

#8     BRING A SEAT!

Seating is often limited. Be prepared with your own portable stools or folding cloth chairs! Need suggestions?

#7     LEAVE NO TRACE!

Pack it in, Pack it Out! That’s the mantra of outdoor enthusiasts! This is your chance to re-use those pesky plastic grocery bags! Pack one in your daypack and stash some in your vehicle! Trash receptacles are available in town to unload at the end of the day.

#6     GEAR UP!

Make a list and check it twice! Binoculars, camera, hat, mosquito repellent, sunscreen, sunglasses, hiking gear, rain gear, water bottle, snacks and a light jacket or layers for cool mountain temperatures.

#5     ZIP THE LIPS!

Be a courteous birder and audience member. Motions and noise can alert birds just when we were getting to know them!

#4     GO BEFORE YOU GO!

Potty breaks are limited! Especially for field trips where there are no facilities for long, expansive traveling distances. Bathroom facilities are available at the field trip departure location.

#3     FOLLOW THE GUIDE!

Observe your trip leader’s instructions. Stick with the group. Stay within sight and hearing distance of your guide but don’t walk in front of your guide. Field trips are often on private property, so private jaunts are highly discouraged.

#2     SAVE THE DATE!

Save the date and make accommodations early!  August 14 – 17, 2025.

#1     HAVE FUN!

We’re learning about how to best accommodate our Celebration registrants. We appreciate your feedback and look forward to making things better every year!
